Dachau
Above is a picture of american troops guarding the main entrance to Dachau just after liberation in 1945. It was a miracle that this event had happened because everyone feared the worse. “But miracles still happen, even if we don't think they do.”
On March 22, 1933, a few weeks after Adolf Hitler had been elected as Reich
Chancellor, a concentration camp for political prisoners was set up in Dachau. In the twelve years of its existence over 200,000 people from all over Europe were imprisoned here and in the numerous subsidary camps. Dachau was actually the first concentraion camp ever made.
